Job summary

TAFE SA in Adelaide seeks a Corporate Accounting Manager to lead financial accounting, control, and compliance, and to oversee external reporting and taxation in partnership with Shared Services SA.

The role ensures efficient policy and process alignment with legislative requirements and provides expert guidance, while coordinating with the Audit Office of SA and leading a team of financial professionals.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in accounting, economics, or a related financial/business management field, with CA or CPA designation.
• Strong knowledge of State Government financial accounting policies, reporting requirements and financial compliance frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience leading financial processes, including financial statement preparation and application of Australian Accounting Standards and Treasurer’s Instructions.
• High-level communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly and professionally.
• Proven ability to work independently or collaboratively, lead and develop professional staff, improve business systems and processes, and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial accounting, financial control and compliance, external financial reporting and taxation activities.
• Ensure systems, policies and processes support efficient and compliant operations.
• Provide specialist advice and interact with Shared Services SA and the Audit Office of SA.
