Job summary

The Australian Infrastructure Financing Facility for the Pacific (AIFFP) seeks an experienced Strategic Communications Manager to lead communications across its infrastructure portfolio in the Pacific and Timor-Leste. The role develops a proactive agenda that advances Australia’s objectives and strengthens AIFFP’s reputation as a trusted infrastructure partner.

You will work with DFAT staff, investment teams and government stakeholders to translate complex policy content into clear narratives,

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing and delivering strategic communications strategies and campaigns.
• Strong writing skills across diverse audiences, including partner countries.
• Experience managing media, reputational and stakeholder issues in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of proactive, integrated communications strategies and campaigns.
• Provide strategic communications advice to senior executives and project teams.
• Translate complex policy content into clear narratives for government, media and public audiences.
• Oversee planning and production of communications products for major announcements and events.
• Anticipate and manage emerging communications risks and issues to protect AIFFP’s reputation.
• Build relationships across DFAT, government agencies and diplomatic posts to advance outcomes.
• Draft and coordinate approvals of media releases, speeches, talking points, and digital content.
• Manage external communications providers and campaigns for high-quality outputs.
• Monitor media coverage and use analytics to inform strategy and measure impact.
• Foster strategic thinking and capability development within the team.
