Job summary

Randstad is seeking an experienced Senior Communications Advisor to support a major government infrastructure program on the Sunshine Coast. You will bridge internal project teams, contractors, and communities to deliver proactive, strategy-driven communications throughout project lifecycles.

The role emphasizes reputation management, risk mitigation, and clear public messaging, with a focus on engaging diverse stakeholders across agencies and local groups.

Qualifications

• Project Experience: delivering communications and stakeholder engagement within infrastructure projects.
• Stakeholder Management: building relationships across multi-organizational teams.
• Issues & Risk Management: identifying and mitigating community concerns and construction impacts.
• Communication Skills: written and verbal to translate technical data into public messaging.
• Qualifications & Certifications: degree in Communications/Public Relations, and/or IAP2 certification is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of communications and stakeholder engagement strategies for infrastructure project packages.
• Act as primary communications interface between government delivery teams and principal contractor partners.
• Develop, coordinate, and quality-check construction notifications, stakeholder briefings, and community engagement collateral.
• Provide strategic advice to project managers on reputation management and risk mitigation.
• Monitor community sentiment and stakeholder feedback to support informed decision-making.
• Represent the organization in meetings with external stakeholders, community groups, local councils, and businesses.
