Job summary

BMD Group in Melbourne seeks a Commercial Manager to provide strategic commercial and contractual leadership across our project portfolio, partnering with operations and stakeholders to manage risk and drive business performance.

The role is hybrid with travel to VIC sites, supporting pre-contracts and providing commercial expertise across major infrastructure and energy projects within VIC/SA/TAS.

Qualifications

• Experience as Commercial Manager, Contracts Manager, Senior Commercial Advisor or similar.
• Construction, infrastructure, engineering or project delivery experience.
• Strong understanding of commercial risk management and contract administration.
• Experience reviewing and negotiating complex contracts.
• Legal qualifications or legal experience will be highly regarded.
• Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach to commercial problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the commercial management of major infrastructure and construction projects.
• Advising project teams on contract interpretation, risk management and commercial strategy.
• Reviewing and negotiating client, subcontractor and supplier agreements.
• Supporting contract administration, claims, variations and dispute resolution activities.
• Identifying and mitigating commercial risks throughout project lifecycles.
• Assisting BMD's Pre-Contracts and Bid Teams with tender reviews, contract assessments and commercial submissions.
• Working collaboratively with operational and senior leadership teams to drive positive commercial outcomes.
