Overview

We are the regulator of the Victorian legal profession. We license lawyers and oversee service standards and conduct, handle complaints about lawyers, investigate poor conduct and oversee management of trust accounts. We are also the stewards of the public purpose and fidelity funds and administer these to support legal regulation and access to justice in Victoria. We are a modern best practice regulator using data and insights to identify where our actions have the greatest impact on ensuring ethical and professional legal practice by Victorian lawyers, and we are passionate about maintaining and protecting the rule of law by ensuring the integrity of the legal profession.

Role

We are recruiting for a Strategic Adviser to the Executive Director to join our Licensing & Complaints Business Unit. You will work alongside the Executive Director and the Business Unit's management team to support the delivery of our divisional and organisational priorities.

  • Demonstrated experience in providing advice, leadership, information and project delivery in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment to senior leaders and government decision makers
  • A proven track record of developing constructive relationships
  • Excellent conceptual and analytical skills and the ability to lead the development and implementation of advice for a range of audiences
  • A diverse background and/or experience working in different environments, sectors or fields, including in the public sector would be advantageous
