Job summary

Sigma Aerospace Workforce is seeking an Aviation Stores Person to support maintenance operations at Melbourne Airport in Melbourne, VIC. You will handle parts, tools and consumables, ensuring accuracy and timely availability while maintaining strict traceability and compliance. The role requires warehouse or inventory experience, with aviation stores knowledge preferred.

A Melbourne-based candidate with ASIC, licences and valid driving credentials will fit best. FIFO not offered.

Qualifications

  • Experience in warehouse, stores or inventory control within aviation is preferred.
  • Accuracy and traceability are critical in a regulated aviation environment.
  • Ability to support maintenance teams with timely parts availability and proper documentation.

Role Description

Sigma Aerospace Workforce is seeking an experienced Aviation Stores Person to support aircraft maintenance operations at Melbourne Airport. This role suits someone with previous stores, warehouse or inventory experience who understands the importance of accuracy, traceability and turnaround time in a regulated aviation environment. You will support maintenance teams by ensuring aircraft parts, tooling and consumables are available, controlled and recorded correctly.

You will:

  • Manage aircraft parts, tools and consumables through the stores function
  • Support day-to-day warehouse and inventory operations
  • Pick, issue, receive, inspect and record aviation inventory accurately
  • Maintain stock control using inventory management systems
  • Support maintenance teams with timely parts and tooling availability
  • Follow aviation compliance, safety and documentation requirements

Required Role Experience

Previous experience in a warehouse, stores or inventory control role. Aviation stores experience will be highly regarded.

Maintenance Qualification / Licence

No aircraft maintenance licence is required for this role. Knowledge of aviation parts, tooling, consumables and regulatory requirements such as CASA and CAAS will be highly regarded.

Work Rights

Must have full Australian work rights. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Location / Availability

Must be Melbourne based or able to work locally at Melbourne Airport. FIFO and relocation support are not available.

Additional Requirements

Valid ASIC or ability to obtain. Valid Airside Driving Licence for Melbourne Airport required. Forklift licence and relevant stores or logistics certifications preferred. Valid Dangerous Goods by Air Acceptance training for Group A and F, equivalent to IATA Category 1 and 6, required.

Skills

Strong inventory control, accurate documentation, computer literacy, WMS or ERP system experience, attention to detail and the ability to work in an operational aviation environment.

Attitude

Reliable, safety-focused, organised, practical and able to support maintenance teams under time pressure.
