Job summary

LAI Group in Melbourne is seeking a Stores Operator to join the workshop in Epping, Victoria. Full-time role with a 38-hour week and negotiable wage based on experience and ability.

The Stores Operator will assist in ordering, maintaining, and reporting stock to the Workshop Manager, ensuring tradespeople have equipment and goods are dispatched safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Understanding of product handling when receiving and dispatching goods.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving issues in warehouse flows.
• Inventory management experience and organizing stock rooms.
• Receiving/dispatching of goods with accurate record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Prepare goods for dispatch.
• Place goods received within the corresponding job holding area, record, and general filing.
• Segregate non-conforming products into quarantine zone and prepare credit requisitions.
• Maintain communication with the Supply Chain team regarding goods coming in and going out.
• Advise Projects employee of the arrival of products.

LAI Group is one of Australia’s largest switchboards and switchrooms manufacturers. With over 115 years of combined experience, we are a leader in the design and manufacture of custom switchboards and switchrooms in Australia.

As a result of continuous national growth, LAI Group is seeking a Stores Operator to join our team at our Workshop in Epping (Victoria). We would like team members who are excited about the opportunity to build a stable, rewarding, and lucrative career with us.

Schedule

Full-time

A 38-hour week (Monday – Friday) Early finish on Fridays

Wage (Negotiable - Experience, knowledge, and ability will be taken into consideration)

The Position

As a Stores Operator at LAI Group, you will be required to assist in ordering, maintaining, and reporting stock reports to the Workshop Manager. This role is important in ensuring our tradespersons have the appropriate equipment to complete their projects and products are prepared for dispatch in a safe and efficient matter.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare goods for dispatch.
• Place goods received within the corresponding job holding area, record, and general filing.
• Segregate non-conforming products into quarantine zone and prepare credit requisitions.
• Maintain communication with the Supply Chain team in relation to goods coming in and going out.
• Advise Projects employee of the arrival of products.

The successful applicant will preferably have:

• A good understanding and knowledge of product handling when receiving and dispatching.
• Experience in troubleshooting
• Team player
• Safety mindset
• Thorough when reviewing and confirming documentation
• Inventory management experience
• Receiving/dispatching of goods

Desired Competencies

• HR Truck licence
