Qualifications

• Good Excel skills and estimating software exposure.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specs and stone schedules to prepare quantity take-offs.
• Calculate material needs considering slab layout, vein matching and waste.
• Price materials, fabrication, delivery and installation including site access.
• Obtain supplier/subcontractor prices and check lead times.
• Clarify missing details with builders and prepare inclusive quotations.
• Review pricing with management and follow up quotes/variations.
• Assist handover of awarded jobs and update estimating rates.

Position: Stone Estimator – Residential & Commercial

Prime Tile & Stone is looking for an experienced Stone Estimator to join our team. If you understand stonework and have experience preparing quotes for residential or commercial projects, we’d like to hear from you.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural plans, specifications and stone schedules, and prepare quantity take-offs.
• Calculate material requirements, allowing for slab layout, vein matching and wastage.
• Price materials, fabrication, delivery and installation, including site access and lifting requirements.
• Obtain supplier and subcontractor prices, and check availability and lead times.
• Clarify missing details with builders and prepare quotes with clear inclusions and exclusions.
• Review pricing with management, follow up quotations and prepare variations.
• Help hand over awarded jobs and keep estimating rates up to date.

Qualifications and experience

• Minimum of 3 years' estimating experience in stonemasonry or stone fabrication.
• Ability to read architectural drawings and prepare accurate estimates.
• Practical knowledge of stone materials, finishes, fabrication and installation.
• Good Excel skills and experience with estimating or take-off software.
• Attention to detail and the ability to meet tender deadlines.
• Clear communication with builders, suppliers and project teams.
• Australian work rights.

Experience with commercial stone packages, tiling or waterproofing would be an advantage. A relevant trade background or qualification is welcome but isn't essential.
