Job summary

AKD Softwoods in Colac, VIC, is seeking a Stock Controller to join our Colac Supply Chain team. This hands-on admin role supports production planning, inventory integrity and operational coordination across production, dispatch and planning teams.

You’ll help ensure accurate records, run sheets, stock counts and timely reporting to keep daily operations running smoothly. Reporting to the Production Planner, you will learn and backfill key planning activities as required.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate record keeping.
• Effective organisation and the ability to manage competing daily priorities.
• Clear communication skills and confidence working with multiple operational teams.
• A practical approach to investigating discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.
• Confidence using inventory systems and shared digital records.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute run sheets and communicate upcoming production runs to operational employees.
• Record production volumes and actual production data accurately for reporting and traceability.
• Print and control production labels, manage errors and report trends that support process improvement.
• Scan, save and file completed production documentation in shared systems.
• Complete regular stock spot checks and participate in stocktakes.
• Investigate and reconcile stock discrepancies, ensuring inventory movements are recorded correctly.
• Monitor stock placement and help ensure stock is stored in designated locations.
• Work closely with the Production Planner, Production Supervisors and Dispatch team to respond to operational changes.
• Learn and backfill the Production Planner role when required.
