Job summary

SeaLink Sydney Harbour operates a fleet of commercial vessels on Sydney Harbour. We’re building a bench of exceptional Stewards for Captain Cook Cruises who take pride in every plate, every pour and every detail of the guest experience.

As a Steward, you’ll work hands-on from prep to service and reset for the next sailing, supported by your Cruise Director or Venue Manager and the wider hospitality team. You’ll deliver food and beverages with warmth, communicate menu items clearly, and keep

Responsibilities

• Set up the vessel for service, front and back of house, ahead of each cruise.
• Deliver food and beverage service to guests with presentation and care.

Set the Standard on Sydney Harbour

Picture service with a view no restaurant on land can match — the sails of the Opera House sliding past, the sun setting behind the Harbour Bridge, and a table of guests who came for a night to remember. That's the stage. We're looking for the people who can deliver the standard it deserves.

We're building a bench of exceptional Stewards for Captain Cook Cruises — the calibre of hospitality professional who takes pride in every plate, every pour and every detail of the guest experience. If that's you, we'd love to hear from you ahead of our upcoming crewing needs.

About the Role

As a Steward, you'll play a hands-on role in making every cruise run smoothly — from prepping the vessel before guests come aboard to delivering food and drinks with genuine warmth and professionalism, right through to resetting for the next service. You'll work closely with your Cruise Director or Venue Manager and the wider hospitality and catering team, so there's always support close by and always something new to learn.

What You'll Do

• Set up the vessel for service, front and back of house, ahead of each cruise
• Deliver food and beverage service to guests with a high standard of presentation and care
• Communicate menu items clearly, including special dietary requirements
• Lend a hand with food preparation and presentation when needed
• Clean and reset the vessel and equipment at the end of each service
• Keep all workspaces and crew areas clean, tidy and hygienic
• Follow Responsible Service of Alcohol requirements at all times

About You

You're a team player with strong communication skills and the initiative to get on with the job without needing to be told twice. You take pride in your presentation and hold yourself to a high standard, and you're comfortable adapting when plans change mid-shift — because on the water, they sometimes do. A current RSA is essential, and a Food Safety certificate is a bonus if you've got one. Previous experience in hospitality or tourism will help you hit the ground running, but a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn count for just as much.
