Job summary

NSW Health – North Coast Local Health District is seeking a Sterilisation Technician Grade 2 to support the Central Sterile Services Department. You will decontaminate, inspect, package and sterilise reusable medical equipment and instruments, ensuring infection control and traceability.

You will join a collaborative team, work on a seven-day rotating roster, and contribute to patient safety in a busy hospital setting. Applicants must have a relevant qualification and hospital experience in CSSD.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Sterilisation Technology (TAFE) required.
• Recent hospital sterilisation department experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
• Sound computer skills and familiarity with tracking systems.

About the role

Join our Central Sterile Services Department as a Sterilisation Technician Grade 2, playing an essential role in ensuring reusable medical equipment and instruments are safely decontaminated, inspected, packaged and sterilised.

Working as part of a collaborative team, you’ll help maintain high standards of infection control, traceability and quality while responding to the changing demands of a busy hospital environment.

About you

• Certificate III in Sterilisation Technology (TAFE)
• Recent experience in a hospital-based sterilising department
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive and complex tasks
• Sound computer skills and experience with CSSD tracking systems
• Ability to work effectively under general supervision and meet deadlines
• Strong understanding of infection control, relevant standards and manufacturer instructions
• Ability to adapt and work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Willingness to participate in a seven-day rotating roster
• Commitment to teamwork, professional practice, patient safety and continuous improvement
