Job summary

Bowral & District Hospital is seeking an experienced Sterilisation Technician to join their team in a temporary part‑time role (20 hours per week) for up to 6 months, until April 2027. You will ensure clean, sterile, or disinfected items are provided to operating theatres and other wards, and support sterile stock rotation within the perioperative services.

The role requires a Certificate in Sterilisation Services, flexibility to work rotating shifts, and knowledge of WHS and infection control.

Qualifications

• Certificate II or III in Health Service Assistance (Sterilisation Services) or equivalent.
• Experience working in a Hospital Sterilising Services Department.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team under the guidance of a Staff Supervisor for processing complex medical devices.
• Ability to prioritise and communicate workload to achieve quality outcomes.
• Sound communication ability with strong written and verbal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide clean, sterile items and/or equipment to stakeholders within Bowral & District Hospital.
• Prepare daily operations and manage sterile stock rotation in the operating suite stock room.
• Reprocess flexible endoscopes in the scope reprocessing room within perioperative services.
