Job summary

Ecolinc in Victoria seeks an Assistant Director (Teaching & Learning/Professional Learning) to lead innovative STEM curriculum, evaluate teaching practice, and drive high-impact professional learning across the state.

The role provides strategic leadership, mentors teachers, and collaborates with schools and partners to deliver contemporary science and mathematics education that meets Victorian standards and advances student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated capacity for outstanding classroom teaching and instructional leadership.
• Expert knowledge of curriculum design and implementation for science and STEM aligned to Victorian Curriculum and VCE.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to mentor colleagues in a collaborative professional learning culture.
• Ability to use data and evidence to evaluate and improve teaching practice and program effectiveness.
• Proven ability to contribute strategically as part of a leadership team to plan and review priorities.
• Experience developing and delivering professional learning programs to build teacher capacity and respond to STEM priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and evaluation of programs aligned to Victorian Curriculum 2.0, VCE and Dept priorities.
• Ensure programs integrate inquiry-based learning, STEM, sustainability, and real-world contexts.
• Lead the development of innovative programs to position Ecolinc as a centre of excellence in environmental education.
• Model exemplary teaching and foster a culture of excellence and reflective practice.
• Support teachers in developing effective instructional strategies for hands-on, inquiry-based learning.
• Use evidence-informed practices and data to evaluate program impact and improve outcomes.
• Develop and deliver high-quality professional learning opportunities for teaching staff.
• Foster collaboration and continuous improvement across the teaching team.
• Collaborate with schools, universities, and industry partners to extend program reach.
