Job summary

Milkwood Steiner School in Darwin invites a qualified Early Childhood Registered Teacher to lead a play-based Steiner kindergarten for 5–6 year olds. The role, commencing 2027, involves collaboration with Indigenous Elders, families and the College of Teachers.

You will plan and document programs aligned to the Australian Steiner Curriculum Framework, support learning adjustments, and contribute to a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment on Larrakia land.

Qualifications

• Must be an Early Childhood Qualified Registered Teacher in NT (TRB).
• Current Ochre Card, Police Check and First Aid Certificate (or ability to provide prior to start).
• ACECQA-registered preschool experience for 5-year-old Kinder advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, document, assess and report on teaching programs aligned to the Australian Steiner Curriculum Framework.
• Develop educational adjustment plans for inclusion, wellbeing and learning.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, conduct incident reporting and behaviour management as required.
• Supervise student activities including festivals and welfare programs.
• Communicate with parents via email, phone or in person and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
• Attend planning and other meetings as required by the Principal.
• Ensure appropriate classroom behavior and budget management reflecting Milkwood Steiner School values.
