Job summary

Aurora Southern Highlands Steiner School in the NSW Southern Highlands is seeking a passionate Class 1 Teacher to commence in January 2027. This full-time role requires dedication to Steiner education, energy, creativity and strong communication with children, families and colleagues.

The teacher will design and deliver an exceptional programme following the Steiner curriculum, foster a warm, inclusive classroom, and integrate academic, artistic and practical learning to support wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Must hold NSW teaching qualification or equivalent.
• NESA approval to teach and NSW Working with Children clearance are essential.
• Ability to design and deliver Steiner education within the NSW framework.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver an exceptional Steiner-based program following Aurora curriculum and NSW context.
• Create a warm, inclusive classroom where children flourish physically, socially and academically.
• Integrate academic, artistic and practical learning in creative, rhythmic sequences.
• Assess and monitor student progress and communicate with families and colleagues to support each student.
• Plan class and community events to expand learning and foster belonging.
• Maintain attendance records and teaching documentation including IEPs and progress data.
