Job summary

State Government of Victoria, Australia, is seeking a Statutory Planner to work with councils, agencies and stakeholders to manage transport impacts, provide clear guidance, negotiate solutions and address road safety and traffic management issues.

About the role

The position works with councils, government agencies, internal specialists and other stakeholders to ensure transport impacts are appropriately managed. Key responsibilities include providing clear advice, negotiating solutions, addressing road safety and traffic management issues, meeting statutory timeframes, preparing briefings and contributing to planning policies, guidelines and improvement projects.

  • Thinks strategically and delivers on time, connecting day-to-day work to broader organisational and community outcomes while consistently meeting statutory timeframes.
Qualifications and experience

You’llbring:

  • A tertiary qualification relevant to Statutory Planning or Traffic and Transport Engineering, and/or relevant working experience. (mandatory)
  • An understanding of traffic and transport engineering principles, with the ability to review Transport Impact Assessment Reports and experience relevant to the role, including growth area planning.
  • A current driver’s licence and willingness to undertake occasional travel to regional and rural Victoria.
