Job summary

eHealth NSW is seeking a Statewide Software Asset Management Lead to guide the strategic direction of SAM across NSW Health. You will drive licensing compliance, cost optimisation and risk management at enterprise scale, while championing data analytics and automation using the SAM Pro platform.

The role leads a high-performing team and partners with executives and vendors to deliver statewide outcomes in a large, complex health system. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Extensive SAM experience in a large, complex organisation.
• Expertise in software licensing, compliance and audit management.
• Strong commercial and analytical capability with data-driven decisions.
• Proven leadership across specialist teams and stakeholders.
• Experience driving automation, governance maturity and platform tooling.
• Tertiary qualifications in Software Asset Management, IT, Business or related field.

As the Statewide Software Asset Management Lead, you will lead the strategic direction, governance and optimisation of Software Asset Management (SAM) across NSW Health. Working at an enterprise level, you'll drive licensing compliance, software investment optimisation and risk management, while championing the use of data, automation and the SAM Pro platform to deliver statewide outcomes across one of Australia's largest and most complex health systems.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the development and delivery of NSW Health's statewide Software Asset Management strategy, roadmap and operating model.
• Drive enterprise-wide software licence optimisation and rationalisation initiatives, identifying opportunities for cost savings, value realisation and improved investment outcomes.
• Provide strategic oversight of software licensing compliance, audit readiness and risk management, helping to reduce financial, legal, cyber and operational risk across NSW Health.
• Partner with senior executives and technology vendors to negotiate optimal licensing arrangements and influence enterprise-wide decision-making.
• Champion innovation and continuous improvement through the use of automation, analytics and the SAM Pro platform to enhance governance, compliance and operational excellence.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative culture focused on delivering strategic outcomes and exceptional service across the health system.

About You
We're looking for a strategic and commercially minded Software Asset Management leader who can influence at all levels, navigate complexity and drive enterprise-wide outcomes. You'll thrive in this role if you're passionate about optimising technology investments, managing risk and leading high-performing teams in a large and evolving environment.

• Extensive Software Asset Management experience, ideally gained within a large, complex organisation, with a strong track record of delivering enterprise-wide SAM outcomes.
• Deep expertise in software licensing, compliance and audit management, with the ability to proactively identify, mitigate and manage financial, legal and cyber risks.
• Strong commercial and analytical capability, with experience using data and insights to drive licence optimisation, cost efficiencies and value realisation.
• Proven leadership experience, including leading specialist teams, driving strategic initiatives and influencing stakeholders across all levels of an organisation.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and manage complex vendor and executive interactions.
• Experience driving automation, continuous improvement and governance maturity, leveraging technology and data to improve operational outcomes.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience in Software Asset Management, Information Technology, Business, Procurement or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated capability using AI and digital productivity tools to support analysis, decision-making and service improvement in line with governance, privacy and security requirements.
