The Tasmanian Health Service (THS) seeks experienced Clinical Coders to join its state-wide Clinical Coding team. You will code using ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS, validate DRGs, and support education and quality activities in a flexible, roaster-friendly environment.

The role offers hybrid and remote work options, salary of $85,196 to $97,915 per annum pro rata, and a strong focus on professional development within a large Tasmanian health system.

Qualifications

• Clinical coding experience in a health service with casemix comparable to THS.
• Ability to liaise with clinical staff for clarification when documentation is insufficient.

Responsabilités

• Undertake accurate clinical coding and abstract information from records using ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS guidelines.
• Enter coding data into the hospital PAS and ensure benchmarks are met.
• Analyse documentation, verify completeness, and follow up with clinicians for clarity as needed.
• Validate DRG allocation, including cost weight, LOS and ECCS data for inpatient episodes.
• Participate in coding education and quality improvement activities.
