Job summary

AustCorp Executive invites a State Project Director – Defence Bases & AUKUS to lead major defence infrastructure programs from concept to delivery. You will head multidisciplinary teams, manage procurement, and ensure alignment with contractual obligations and defence standards.

The role requires senior PM experience in defence, government or major capital projects, with an NV1 clearance and an engineering degree (or PMP training).

Qualifications

• Australian citizen with NV1/NV2 security clearance.
• 10+ years in Defence Base sector in senior project management or related AUKUS work.
• 5+ years delivering defence base upgrades, maritime infrastructure, or major federal projects in a consulting capacity.
• Engineering degree (Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical) and/or PMP training.

Responsibilities

• Drive business growth by monitoring tenders and leading tender responses.
• Lead project managers, consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
• Oversee delivery, procurement, and alignment with strategic objectives.
• Build relationships with defence clients, government bodies and senior stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop consulting staff.
• Act as the in-state primary contact for Defence client engagement.

Seeking a State Project Director – Defence Bases & AUKUS to lead teams delivering Defence Base, Maritime Infrastructure & Defence-Aligned projects from $2M to over $300M+, while setting strategic direction and ensuring all works align with contractual obligations and defence/federal government standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive business growth through monitoring Tenders and leading Tender response.
• Lead Project Managers, consultants, and multidisciplinary advisory / delivery teams.
• Oversee project delivery, procurement, and alignment with corporate strategy.
• Build and maintain relationships with defence clients, government bodies, and senior stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop consulting staff.
• Act as the primary in-state point of contact for Defence client and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

• Australian Citizen, active NV1 / NV2
• 10+ years’ Defence Base sector experience in Senior Project Management or experience in AUKOS.
• 5+ years’ experience delivering defence base upgrades, Maritime Infrastructure, Defence Infrastructure projects, or high-profile Federal site projects in a consulting capacity.
• Background in defence, government, infrastructure, or major capital projects, with an NV1 clearance.
• Proven experience managing multiple teams and engaging with senior stakeholders.
• Degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical or Mechanical), Construction, or a related field, and/or formal PMP training.
