Job summary

BildGroup is seeking a senior leader to unite its South Australian operations from the Wingfield base, overseeing infrastructure, Bitu-mill road profiling and related businesses. This role drives growth, safety and profitability across all divisions with regional site engagement.

You will report to the General Manager Infrastructure, shape strategic direction with divisional leaders, manage client relationships across government, Defence and energy sectors, and champion vertical integration

Qualifications

• Senior experience leading road project delivery for the Department for Infrastructure and Transport or another state road authority
• A track record of winning work and building relationships with government, Defence, energy or major private sector clients
• Commercial judgement across tendering, contract risk, forecasting and claims
• Experience leading teams and working across business units towards shared targets, with the ability to influence without direct authority
• The ability to understand different businesses and markets and set a shared direction with their managers
• Commercial judgement on when to build, supply or buy in, and the discipline to keep work inside the group where it is competitive
• A current driver licence, White Card and the eligibility to obtain and hold a Baseline security clearance

• Deliver our South Australian infrastructure projects to agreed margin, program and quality
• Be the central point of leadership and escalation for every BildGroup business in South Australia
• Work with each business manager and divisional General Manager to understand and develop the strategic direction of their business in the state
• Lead project teams and plan the people, plant and subcontractors needed for current and future work, sharing across businesses where it is best for BildGroup
• Drive vertical integration across our South Australian businesses, using our own capability and plant before external contractors where we can deliver competitively
• Develop the South Australian growth plan with divisional leaders and build a pipeline for every division
• Lead tenders in South Australia, including prequalification, client engagement and Industry Participation Plans
• Improve how we build in South Australia, from construction methods to productivity and client partnering

About The Role

BildGroup is growing in South Australia. Our Infrastructure business and our Bitu-mill road profiling business are established in the state. Our other businesses, including landscaping, sports fields, urban development, asphalt and Major Projects, are now building theirs. This new role leads that growth and is the central point of leadership for all of them.

Reporting to the General Manager Infrastructure, you will lead the safe and profitable delivery of our South Australian infrastructure projects and act as the senior point of escalation for every BildGroup business in the state. You will work with each business manager and divisional General Manager to understand and shape the direction of their business, and make the calls that are best for BildGroup as a whole so clients see one team. You will drive vertical integration across our businesses, so we win and deliver work for each other before we go to external contractors. You will also own our pipeline and client relationships across the state, building relationships with state and local government, Defence, energy and transmission clients and data centre developers.

The role is based at our Wingfield office, with regular travel to project sites and clients across regional South Australia. Your time will be shared between running infrastructure operations, leading across our South Australian businesses and winning new work. It suits a senior leader with state road authority delivery experience and South Australian client relationships who wants the job of building one state business.
