Job summary

The Department for Education in Adelaide seeks a State History Network Manager to coordinate development, delivery and evaluation of the History Trust of South Australia’s approach to supporting community museums and history organisations across the state.

This senior role leads a significance-led network, identifies significant objects, maintains a Register of Objects, and provides consultancy across the network while aligning with statutory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Essential: postgraduate qualifications or specialist training in museum studies, heritage or cultural tourism, collections significance or related field.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate development, delivery and evaluation of the History Trust of South Australia’s approach to supporting community museums, historical societies and collecting organisations across the state.
• Implement a significance-led approach to identify, conserve, interpret and share objects and collections of state significance.
• Develop and maintain a Register of Objects of Historical Significance to the State and support community organisations to interpret and share significant collections locally.
• Provide guidance, consultancy and professional services across the Network and advise on funding for museum development and accreditation tasks.
