Job summary

Saint Ignatius' College Riverview in Lane Cove, NSW, seeks an exceptional Stage 3 Classroom Teacher to deliver engaging lessons with a strong emphasis on English and Mathematics. You will work with the Head of Regis, colleagues and parents to support academic, pastoral and wellbeing outcomes.

The role is full-time (1.0 FTE), ongoing, commencing 20 January 2027, with responsibilities across learning programs, co-curriculum involvement, and alignment to the College's Mission and Values.

Qualifications

• Accredited with NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) to teach in NSW.
• Outstanding Stage 3 (Year 5 and 6) classroom teacher.
• Excellent communication and ability to form positive relationships.
• Strong organisational skills and data interpretation across sources.
• Experience implementing Positive Behaviour for Learning in primary context.
• Plan engaging classroom programs aligned with 21st century pedagogy.
• Commitment to collaborative teaching to boost Stage 3 engagement.
• Proven outcomes in English and Mathematics.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
• Understand and support the College Mission and Values.
• Willing to contribute to co-curriculum programs.
• Hold current Working with Children Check and safeguarding commitment.

Job description

Saint Ignatius' College Riverview is a Catholic boys' school in the Jesuit tradition. Located on picturesque grounds in Lane Cove, this leading independent school delivers a holistic education for day and boarding students from Years 5 to 12.

The College is seeking to appoint an exceptional Stage 3 Classroom Teacher to join our Regis Campus. The Stage 3 Classroom Teacher will bring their innovative teaching practices to create engaging lessons for our junior students, with a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy. In collaboration with the Head of Regis, colleagues and parents, the Stage 3 Classroom Teacher is also responsible for the academic, pastoral, social and spiritual wellbeing of the students in their homeroom.

The position is full-time (1.0 FTE), ongoing commencing 20 January 2027.

• Various Subjects across Stage 3, with a strong emphasis on English and Mathematics

About You

• accredited with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) to be eligible to teach in NSW.
• be an outstanding classroom teacher of Stage 3 (Year 5 and 6)
• possess excellent communication skills and easily form positive relationships
• exhibit superb organisational skills, allowing you to cooperatively plan with other teachers to manipulate and interpret school data from a range of sources
• demonstrate experience in implementing Positive Behaviour learning systems in a primary school context to manage student behaviour
• have a high level of skill in planning, organising, implementing, and supporting engaging classroom programs that align with best practice 21st Century pedagogy
• be committed to collaborative teaching and learning practices to increase student engagement particularly in a stage 3 context
• proven ability to bring about successful outcomes in all key learning areas with exemplary expertise in English and Mathematics
• demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
• demonstrate an understanding of and a commitment to the Mission and Values of the College
• be willing to contribute to the co-curriculum programs at the College
• hold a current Working with Children Check and be committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety, welfare and well-being of children and young people.
