Metro South Health Service in Brisbane seeks a Staff Specialist in Cardiology to contribute to patient outcomes and develop cardiology services at Redland Hospital. The role offers inpatient/outpatient care, leadership in governance, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

The successful candidate will provide advanced cardiac imaging and participate in audits, research, and education, promoting high-quality, patient-centred care across the service.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent qualification and FRACP with Cardiology accreditation.
• Eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• High-level expertise in diagnosing and managing cardiology conditions.
• Commitment to patient-centred care and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Responsabilités

• Deliver inpatient/outpatient general cardiology care, consultations and direct patient care.
• Develop clinical services and governance procedures; offer advanced cardiac imaging (TOE, TTE, stress echo, CT coronary angiography).
• Participate in clinical audits, research, service planning and quality improvement.
• Provide clinical supervision and teaching to medical staff and students.

About you:

You are a skilled and motivated cardiology specialist who combines clinical excellence with a commitment to patient-centred care, professional collaboration and continuous improvement.

• Bring specialist cardiology expertise: Hold an MBBS or equivalent qualification and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), or equivalent, with accreditation in Cardiology and eligibility for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.


• Put patients first: Demonstrate high-level expertise in diagnosing and managing cardiology conditions, with a commitment to respectful, compassionate care and involving patients and carers in clinical decisions.


• Be a collaborative clinical leader: Communicate effectively with patients, carers and healthcare professionals, contribute to multidisciplinary care, and support clinical governance, patient safety and service development.


• Champion education and improvement: Demonstrate a commitment to teaching and mentoring medical staff, ongoing professional development, clinical quality improvement and the delivery of evidence-based care.
