Job summary

Commonwealth Bank in Melbourne is seeking engineers to join the Cyber Security Services Engineering Chapter, building defenses, APIs, and automation to protect customer data at scale.

You'll work with Java, Python, and TypeScript, design and deploy robust software, and contribute to SDLC, automation, and quality engineering. This role offers a path to impact Australia's digital banking landscape.

Qualifications

• Hands-on programming experience in Java/Python/TypeScript, building automation frameworks.
• Hands on experience in handling API, Kafka, MQ, TCP/IP and File Based protocols. Should be able to work with unix commands.
• Software Development and Deployment: Experience in designing, developing and deploying high quality software solutions with comprehensive test coverage without supervision.
• Programming/Software Development: Experience in designing and building programs or application features. Automation frameworks, Automated Tests meeting business objectives and requirements.
• Quality Engineering : Good experience in system integration testing, experience in UI / Backend (API /KAFKA / MQ) automation with frameworks like Selenium / Playwright / DevTest.
• Experience with RDBMS (Oracle) and using SQL or other data integration/ETL tools.
• Experience with source control systems (GitHub) and any of the CI/CD tool like TeamCity, Jenkins, GitHub Actions etc.,
• Experience with effort estimations.

Tech Skills

Full Software Development Lifecycle

• Demonstrated experience throughout the full SDLC, including design, development, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines,
• Hands-on experience with tools like Git, Xcode, Fastlane, and TestFlight.

Full-Stack Engineering

• Hands-on experience in working on backend systems, specifically in Python or similar frameworks.
• Ability to write and maintain RESTful API services .
• Solid understanding of server-side concepts like authentication, caching, and microservices.

Testing & Code Quality

Commitment to maintaining high code quality standards (e.g., clean code, SOLID principles, and scalable architectures).

Performance Optimization

Proficiency in building scalable and reliable tooling.
