UpGuard is seeking its first dedicated product security hire to own the security direction as we scale. You will define security standards, tooling, and practices that protect UpGuard's products and infrastructure for years to come.

You’ll work across product and production environments, performing security reviews, managing vulnerabilities, and leading detection and response in our cloud-native stack. This Staff-level IC role offers genuine autonomy and executive backing, with a focus on

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in security engineering, software security, or security operations.
• Experience with cloud security in GCP/AWS/Azure.
• Strong threat modelling and security review experience.
• Hands-on with IAC tooling like Terraform/OpenTofu.

Responsibilities

• Lead threat modelling and security reviews across UpGuard's product portfolio and cloud infrastructure, surfacing attack vectors and scalable mitigations.
• Build automation, policy-as-code, and AI-driven security tooling to shift left and embed security across the SDLC.
• Design and implement secure-by-default configurations for cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Own vulnerability management end-to-end, triaging and prioritizing by real risk and driving remediation with engineering teams.
• Build scalable detection and response systems to catch malicious activity and run incidents end-to-end.
• Partner with product engineering and platform teams to deliver secure-by-design solutions.
