Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to shape and build the next generation of network automation platforms. You will lead architectural directions, build API-driven control planes and declarative interfaces, and mentor engineers across teams to scale production infrastructure across a global footprint.

You will design stable APIs, schemas and data models, with a strong emphasis on testing, observability and safe deployment.

Qualifications

• Backend languages: Python/Go/Rust/Java with async, typing, data modelling, API tooling.
• Experience building Kubernetes controllers or operators and CRDs.
• Experience with event-driven distributed systems and eventual consistency.
• Designing self-service, multi-tenant platforms with isolation and policy controls.
• Strong API and schema design including versioning and evolution.
• Demonstrated technical leadership across teams and architectures.
• Proven track record delivering production systems for large-scale infra.

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural direction for network automation and infrastructure control platforms.
• Design and build APIs, services, controllers and reconciliation workflows.
• Build on the Kubernetes API with CRDs and control loops.
• Own the operational Kubernetes path: RBAC, Helm packaging, deployment drift.
• Design distributed workflows with idempotency and safe recovery.
• Develop patterns for multi-tenant infrastructure platforms and policy enforcement.
• Establish testing, observability and change safety for live infrastructure.
