What if you could redesign how traffic flows through one of Australia's largest platforms?
Our Traffic Management team is looking for a senior platform engineer to help evolve how we move requests from the internet edge through Cloudflare, AWS, and multiple Kubernetes clusters running Istio. This isn't about keeping the lights on it's about building the next generation of our traffic infrastructure.
You’ll design and run the systems that route every request across our platform. Think: edge networking, multi-region AWS infrastructure, large-scale Kubernetes clusters, and service mesh (Istio). Your decisions will directly impact how hundreds of engineers deploy and operate their services.
This role is heavily focused on developer experience. You’ll create self‑service tools, sensible defaults, and automation that make it trivially easy for product teams to route, secure, and observe their traffic. Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Helm, GitOps) and CI/CD pipelines are your primary tools.
As a Staff Engineer, you’ll influence technical direction, lead architectural discussions, and mentor other engineers but you’ll still be hands‑on writing code, building tooling, and solving complex infrastructure problems. You’ll partner with Engineering Managers, Architects, Security, and Product teams across APAC.
We help millions of people find work and build careers. The platform you build enables product teams to ship faster, more reliably, and more securely ultimately helping people connect with opportunities that change their lives.
People who love building platforms that other engineers love using. Engineers who get excited about Kubernetes internals, service mesh design patterns, and Infrastructure‑as‑Code. Technical leaders who care as much about developer experience as they do about system reliability.
Specific experience that's valuable: deep Kubernetes and Istio knowledge, strong software engineering skills for tooling/automation, hands‑on Terraform/Helm/GitOps experience, and proven technical leadership across teams. Bonus points for contributions to CNCF projects, multi‑tenant cluster experience, or CKA certification.
