Job summary

IREN is seeking a Staff Network Development Engineer to set the technical direction for the software that runs its global network. You will architect platforms to design, deploy, validate, and operate networks at scale, and lead challenging engineering problems while growing the team’s network software capability.

Based in Sydney, this onsite role requires strong expertise in Python/Go, distributed systems, and network automation, with deep knowledge of BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, VXLAN/EVPN and

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as senior or staff software, network development or SRE for large data centre, cloud or hyperscale networks.
• Expert software engineering skills in Python or Go, with a track record of designing and delivering distributed systems, services and APIs in production.
• Deep experience with network automation platforms, data models such as YANG, streaming telemetry and closed-loop automation.
• Strong BGP, OSPF or IS-IS, MPLS with traffic engineering, VXLAN and EVPN knowledge, and experience with large HPC and AI networks.
• Experience with network platforms such as Cisco, Juniper and Arista, and their programmable interfaces.
• A clear view on applying AI and machine learning to network operations.
• Experience with NVIDIA Spectrum networking, RoCE or InfiniBand, HPC or GPU platforms is highly regarded.
• The credibility to set technical direction, influence across teams and coach senior engineers.
