Cartology, Sydney-based within the Woolworths Group, is seeking a Staff Engineer to own the architecture of Ads Manager as it scales. You will lead the technical roadmap for event-driven services spanning campaign data delivery and measurement, while mentoring engineers and delivering reusable, high-quality components.

This role emphasizes hands-on coding, collaboration with JVM backends and React/TypeScript front ends, and building observable, durable APIs across teams in a hybrid Sydney

Qualifications

10+ years in software engineering with architectural scope.
Deep Kotlin/Java expertise and JVM memory/concurrency knowledge.
Experience with event-driven design and distributed systems.
Hands-on GCP exposure; Kubernetes, BigQuery and data delivery pipelines.

Responsibilities

Own and evolve architecture for Ads Manager services at scale.
Lead technical roadmap across multiple teams and partner integrations.
Set coding and testing standards; enable maintainable, observable systems.
Guide front-end/API coherence with React/TypeScript front ends.
