Job summary

Airwallex is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for AI Tooling in Melbourne, focused on information security. You will lead the development of AI-driven tools and applications that protect systems, data, and employees.

You’ll build and maintain internal tooling infrastructure, including Kubernetes clusters, serverless workloads, ETL pipelines, and terabyte-scale log pipelines, while mentoring engineers and partnering with product teams to raise the security bar.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 7+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Experience with Python and Go or C/C++ on modern cloud infrastructure including Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of AI tooling and applications for security.
• Build and maintain internal tooling infrastructure (Kubernetes, serverless, ETL).
• Mentor engineers and raise the engineering bar across the team.
• Collaborate with product and security teams to automate outcomes.
