Job summary

Downer is seeking motivated Stabilisation Operatives to support road stabilisation and pavement rehabilitation across regional Western Australia. Based from the Maddington Depot, you’ll join stabilisation crews, operate equipment where qualified, and contribute to safe, on-time project delivery.

We welcome candidates from road construction, civil works, earthmoving or plant operation backgrounds who are eager to learn, travel when needed and build a lasting career with Downer.

Qualifications

• Experience in road construction, civil construction, stabilisation, asphalt or earthmoving environments.
• Ability to operate construction plant and equipment where qualified.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
• Physical capability to undertake hands-on work and travel to regional sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist with road stabilisation and pavement rehabilitation projects.
• Operate plant and equipment where qualified.
• Support stabilisation crews with labouring and construction activities.
• Conduct pre-start checks and maintain equipment.
• Work safely in accordance with Downer’s Zero Harm culture.
• Travel to regional project locations as required.
• Contribute to delivering road infrastructure projects across WA.

We are currently seeking motivated Stabilisation Operatives to join our team based from our Maddington Depot. Working across a variety of road construction and pavement rehabilitation projects, you'll support stabilisation crews on projects throughout regional Western Australia while enjoying ongoing training, competitive pay and genuine career progression opportunities.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assisting with road stabilisation and pavement rehabilitation projects
• Operating plant and equipment where qualified and trained
• Supporting stabilisation crews with labouring and construction activities
• Conducting pre-start checks and maintaining equipment
• Working safely in accordance with Downer's Zero Harm culture
• Travelling to regional project locations as required
• Contributing to the successful delivery of road infrastructure projects across Western Australia

What You'll Bring

• HR Truck Licence preferred
• White Card (Construction Induction Card)
• Experience in road construction, civil construction, stabilisation, asphalt or earthmoving environments
• Experience operating construction plant and equipment is highly regarded
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to undertake hands‑on physical work
• Flexibility to travel and work away from home when required
