Sr Procurement Project Manager, Infrastructure Planning and Sourcing

DESCRIPTION

Amazon is hiring a Sr Procurement Project Manager to support AWS' Infrastructure Operations. We are a diverse team of highly motivated, engaged, and responsive professionals that support the core infrastructure of Amazon Web Services' business. We are looking for a collaborative individual to administer sourcing requirements for services, materials and equipment. You will work with internal customers to evaluate and qualify vendors, issue and manage competitive bids, manage ordering, and support the implementation of catalogues, contracts and managerial reports. You will provide support as necessary to ensure that all required contracts are fully in accordance to local legislation and following Amazon's policies. Moreover, create and track KPIs/Reports for Controllership and Fiduciary Controls.

The ideal candidate for this Sr Procurement Project Manager role is a self-starter, a creative, critical thinker with a curious mindset who is willing to learn. You must be an effective negotiator, leader, and communicator to be able to work independently and generate high-quality work product in a cohesive, creative, ever-changing and sometimes ambiguous environment.

Because this position involves direct contact with business owners and external entities, you must have a professional demeanor and be able to communicate and interact with people at every level internally and externally, including upper management.

Hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance.

Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include:

  1. Educate internal customers and vendors on all relevant procedures and policies, especially those related to S&TP (Spending & Transaction Policy) and segregation of duties.
  2. Partner with internal customers to positively influence spending decisions.
  3. Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor evaluation, qualification, and competitive bidding needs.
  4. Create, improve and document tools and processes that recognize and address customer, vendor and cost management needs.
  5. Manage and ensure the integrity of vendor data, and all data gathered through competitive bids.
  6. Ensure all relevant business controls are enforced and satisfied.
  7. Collaborate with team, customers and internal business partners to identify areas for cost improvement.
  8. Support or drive development of or changes to processes to better procure equipment and services.
  9. Support full Procure-to-Pay process, working with stakeholders to determine requirements and scope, supplier selection, requests for proposals, contracting, and all follow-on activities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years' experience in a Procurement organization performing sourcing, vendor management, contract management, negotiating complex purchases, and bidding.
  • 4+ years' experience developing category strategies and pricing models as a Project Manager who can prioritize workload and manage complex projects within cost and schedule.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in Business, Procurement & Supply chain or relevant business discipline.
  • Ability to communicate and report on market intelligence data, including commodity trends and labor indexes.
  • Experience in data centers, engineering, an infrastructure service provider or similar technology company.
  • Experience with creating Procurement systems and tools.
  • Proven ability to implement category strategies globally.
  • Proven ability to deep dive and develop innovative ideas for process challenges.
