Qualifications

• Qualification fire sprinkler fitting or fire protection systems.
• Experience installing and maintaining fire sprinkler systems in Australia.
• Knowledge of Australian fire safety standards including AS 1851 and NCC provisions.
• Ability to read technical drawings, plans and fire system schematics.
• Skills in pipe fitting, welding and system assembly.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to Sydney sites.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
• First Aid certification is advantageous.
• Experience with hydraulic calculations and system design is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Install fire sprinkler systems in new and existing buildings per Australian standards and regulations.
• Maintain and inspect sprinkler systems, hydrants, hose reels, and all fire systems.
• Diagnose and repair faulty sprinkler systems, pipes and components.
• Test and commission fire systems before handover to clients.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and fire system plans.
• Coordinate paperwork to management and liaise with builders, architects and managers.
• Maintain detailed records of installation, maintenance and repair work.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety codes, NCC provisions and company standards.
• Troubleshoot system failures and provide remedial solutions.
• Work independently and in teams to meet project deadlines.

Fire Free Buildings Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and dedicated Sprinkler Fitter/Fire Technician to join our team in Sydney. This is a full-time position based in Sydney NSW 2000. As a Sprinkler Fitter/Fire Technician, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems across residential, commercial, and industrial properties. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that buildings are protected with reliable and compliant fire safety systems, contributing directly to the safety of occupants and the protection of assets.

What you'll be doing

• Installing fire sprinkler systems in new and existing buildings in accordance with relevant Australian standards and regulations
• Conducting routine maintenance and inspections on installed sprinkler systems, hydrants, hose reels and all fire systems in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards.
• Diagnosing and repairing faulty sprinkler systems, pipes, and associated components
• Testing and commissioning fire systems to verify functionality before handover to clients
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and fire safety system plans
• Co-ordinating, compiling and submitted necessary paperwork to management.
• Liaising with builders, architects, fire safety consultants, and property managers throughout project delivery
• Maintaining detailed records of all installation, maintenance, and repair work completed
• Ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with relevant fire safety codes, legislation, and company standards
• Troubleshooting system failures and providing prompt remedial solutions
• Working both independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines

What we’re looking for

• A qualification fire sprinkler fitting, or fire protection systems
• Proven experience installing and maintaining fire sprinkler systems in Australia
• Sound knowledge of Australian fire safety standards, including AS 1851 and relevant NCC provisions
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, plans, and fire system schematics
• Strong practical skills in pipe fitting, welding, and system assembly
• A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to various job sites across Sydney
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients
• A commitment to health and safety in the workplace
• Current First Aid certification is advantageous
• Experience with hydraulic calculations and system design is highly desirable
