Job summary

Seymour College in Adelaide is seeking a Barr Smith Sports Coordinator (Year 7–12) to lead and deliver the co-curricular sports program. The role requires coordinating a team of coaches and ensuring participation, skill development, wellbeing and pathways to excellence.

This permanent, 0.64 FTE position starts January 2027, with 28 hours per week across 41 weeks, including three mornings a week and two Saturdays per month.

Qualifications

Seymour College is seeking a passionate and organised leader to join our dynamic Sports Department as the Barr Smith Sports Coordinator (Year 7–12).

This role is responsible for the effective coordination, delivery and quality of the co-curricular sports program for students in Years 7–12. The position leads and supports a team of coaches to ensure a high-quality sporting experience that encourages participation, skill development, wellbeing and pathways to excellence.

This permanent role commences January 2027 and is offered at 0.64 FTE, working 28 hours per week for 41 weeks of the year. This role requires availability to work from 7.00am three mornings a week, and two Saturday’s a month.

The key responsibilities are to:

• Coordinate and manage the Year 7–12 co-curricular sports program, balancing participation, performance and excellence.
• Lead, mentor and support coaches to deliver quality programs aligned with College expectations and values.
• Oversee scheduling, logistics, and communication for training, fixtures and events.
• Support the Director of Sport in recruitment, compliance, budget and resource management.
• Ensure team selection processes are fair, transparent and consistent with College policies.
