Job summary

Gondola is seeking a Staff Accountant for its Finance/Accounting team at Spire Academy. You will manage accounts receivable, post journal entries, and support month-end closes to ensure accurate financial records.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills (pivot tables), and familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or SAP. This full-time role reports to the Controller.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Accounting required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2-4 years of accounting experience.
• Proficient in Excel with pivot tables and formulas.
• Experience with CSV import/export and ERP software.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Accounts Receivable process and tuition payments.
• Post journal entries and maintain subledger and general ledger balances.
• Prepare and reconcile banking statements and cash activity.
• Support month-end close and financial reporting processes.
• Provide staff training on payables and payroll processes.

Staff Accountant

Location: Spire Academy

Job Type: Full-time

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance/Accounting department. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely payments, and supporting the month-end close process. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, independent worker with strong technical skills and a solid understanding of fundamental accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable

• Manage the Accounts Receivable process, including communication with families surround tuition collection.


• Process invoices and prepare payments (ACH/physical checks), performing accurate data entry into the ERP system.


• Manage Ramp spend process, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.


• Verify and process travel expense reports.


• Handle daily bank deposits and process credit card requests into the bank.


• Perform cash application for received deposits and create customer invoices as needed.


• Ensure the subledger and general ledger are continuously reconciled and in balance.


• Provide training to staff on third-party payables, credit card systems, and payroll processes.

Financial Reporting & Accounting

• Responsible for all sport club accounting.


• Maintain Ramp spend programs, user access and user hierarchies. Ensure departmental compliance to budget.


• Download and organize all banking and merchant statements.


• Prepare and post various journal entries based on operational activities.

Team Support

• Perform other duties as assigned or required to support the Finance/Accounting department.

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Accounting required; Bachelor's degree preferred.


• 2-4 years of accounting experience.


• Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel proficiency is required (must be skilled in pivot tables, basic formulas, etc.).


• Familiarity with importing/exporting CSV files for data transfer.


• Proficiency in accounting and payroll software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, ADP, SAP, Sage).


• Experience with Ramp Platform is a plus.
