Job summary

Avina’s 12-month Graduate Program supports new Speech Pathologists as they transition from university into clinical practice, starting with a 9-week onboarding and a gradual caseload ramp-up.

You'll be mentored by senior clinicians with shadowing, reverse shadowing and ongoing supervision, plus multidisciplinary learning across community, clinic and telehealth settings.

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech Pathology completed or nearing completion.
• Speech Pathology Australia membership or eligibility.
• Interest in community, disability and person-centred practice.
• Curiosity, initiative and willingness to learn.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain them.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Speech Pathology services across community, clinic, home, school and telehealth.
• Caseload will build gradually with ongoing clinical support.
• Engage in multidisciplinary learning and supervision.

Your Graduate Year at Avina

Your first year as a Speech Pathologist should be about developing your clinical identity, building confidence and having people around you who you can turn to when you're still figuring things out.

Our 12-month Graduate Program provides a structured pathway from university into clinical practice, beginning with a 9-week onboarding and gradual caseload ramp-up.

You'll Be Supported Through

• A structured 9-week onboarding and gradual caseload ramp-up
• Initial shadowing with experienced clinicians
• Reverse shadowing and supported sessions as you transition into independent practice

What You'll Learn

What You'll Be Doing

You'll deliver evidence-informed, person-centred Speech Pathology services across community, clinic, home, school and telehealth environments.

Your caseload will build gradually as your skills and confidence develop, with ongoing clinical support available throughout your graduate year.
