Job summary

APM Group's Early Start Australia graduate program invites you to transition from student to confident therapist in our Somerville clinic, delivering early intervention speech pathology services to children and families. You'll receive structured induction, clinical skills training, a buddy, and weekly supervision.

This 12-month program emphasizes family-centred practice, transdisciplinary collaboration, documentation, and opportunities to grow into independent practice through CPD and career

Qualifications

• Qualification in Speech Pathology and SPA registration.
• Current WWC Check or Working with Vulnerable People registration.
• Current Driver’s License and vehicle.
• NDIS worker screening check and Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Deliver early intervention speech pathology services to children and families.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, and developmental needs.
• Develop and implement individualised, evidence-based therapy plans aligned with family goals and child needs.
• Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams using a key worker/transdisciplinary approach.
• Monitor, review, and adapt therapy programs based on client progress and feedback.
• Provide education, resources, and ongoing support to empower families in decision-making and home-based practice.
• Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and NDIS-related records within required timeframes.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders to support client outcomes.

About the Graduate program

Our 12-month graduate program is designed to help you progress from student to thriving therapist. You can expect:

• Structured induction with clinical skills training and a dedicated buddy.
• Clinician shadowing before leading sessions independently.
• Weekly supervision with an experienced clinician.
• Supported ramp-up to managing your own caseload.
• Learning and development built into your week.
• Ongoing support from your multidisciplinary team and team leader.

What you’ll do at our Somerville clinic:

• Deliver early intervention speech pathology services to children and families, supporting communication, participation, and independence.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments (formal and informal) to identify speech, language, and developmental needs.
• Develop and implement individualised, evidence-based therapy plans aligned with family goals and child needs.
• Work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams using a key worker/transdisciplinary approach.
• Monitor, review, and adapt therapy programs based on client progress and feedback.
• Provide education, resources, and ongoing support to empower families in decision‑making and home‑based practice.
• Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and NDIS‑related records within required timeframes.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders (e.g. schools, health professionals, support coordinators) to support client outcomes.

• Relevant qualification in Speech Pathology
• Membership / registration with relevant bodies (SPA)
