Job description

Build a remote caseload around your life, with the independence of contracting and paid access to clinical support.

Pop is looking for speech pathologists who want control over their schedule and caseload. This role could sit alongside another job or grow into a substantial telehealth practice. Contractors must be able to complete a minimum of 10 billable clinical hours each week, with the optional scope to build towards 28 billable clinical hours.

Help shape the future of speech pathology

At Pop Family, we believe every Australian deserves access to exceptional speech therapy, no matter where they live.

Founded and led by Heidi Trusler, a speech pathologist from remote Qld, Pop is shaped by people who understand what it means to be a Speechie. Our 80+ speech pathologists and Occupational Therapists support children and adults across Australia through telehealth, delivering holistic care that makes a real difference.

We know exceptional client outcomes start with excellent clinicians. As a contractor, you bring your own clinical judgement and way of working, with access to the resources, supervision and professional community that help you do your best work.

Our values:

Everything we do is guided by Excellence, Holistic Care, Courage, Ownership and Providing Value to our clients. They shape how we care for our clients, how we work with the clinicians who partner with us, and how we keep raising and leading the standard of telehealth speech pathology.

When you can work

Families particularly need appointments before and after school. We ask contractors to complete a minimum 10 hours of recurring availability each week across these 'peak demand' windows combined:

  • Before school: 7–9 am
  • After school: 3–7 pm
  • Saturdays 7am - 7 pm

You can choose how to spread those 10 hours across the windows. School-hours availability from 9am - 3 pm is welcome in addition to the peak demand hours, and you may build a larger caseload using both school hours and peak demand hours. Tell us which recurring times work for you in your application!

Work independently, stay clinically connected

Contracting gives you room to use your own clinical judgement and shape your caseload. Pop contractors have access to:

  • Paid fortnightly clinical supervision: a 30 minute session dedicated to your clinical work and development.
  • A paid weekly 30 minute team meeting: connection to the team +rotating company updates and clinical in-services.
  • Free access to Heidi Health AI note taking software: saving you hours on clinical notes and client communications
  • Administration Billing Support: You take the first few steps, we complete the rest for you!
  • Extensive electronic clinical resources for engaging, effective online therapy.
  • A wider speech pathology team to learn from and connect with as your practice grows.

This combination may suit a clinician wanting a flexible second role, or someone ready to build a substantial remote caseload with clinical support close at hand.

The work

You will provide speech pathology assessment and therapy online, partner with children and families on meaningful goals, keep appropriate clinical records, and prepare letters and reports where clinically indicated.

You will have autonomy to practise within your clinical expertise while meeting Pop's standards for quality, documentation and client care. We are looking for someone who communicates well with families, enjoys making telehealth engaging, and can consistently complete the 10 billable clinical hours a week required for this role. You will need qualifications and professional credentials appropriate to the clients and funding arrangements you serve.
