Job summary

BlueCare is seeking a Speech Pathologist to provide individualised, person-centred therapy to elderly clients across Bundaberg, Maryborough and Hervey Bay. You will apply contemporary theory to promote independence and wellbeing in daily activities and routines.

New graduates are encouraged to apply. Travel between sites is possible, and the role sits within a statewide Allied Health Team with strong support and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Tertiary Qualifications in Speech Pathology - Essential
• Experience as a Speech Pathologist/Therapist, preferably in aged care
• Graduates are encouraged to apply
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build great relationships
• Clear understanding and experience with contemporary speech pathology theories and practices
• Current Australian Drivers Licence and a road worthy vehicle with comprehensive insurance - Essential
• Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies

Responsibilities

• Proactively screen and assess clients to formulate and maintain up to date individualised care plans
• Maintaining open and fluid communication within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Referring clients to appropriate health care professionals when necessary
• Liaising compassionately with our clients and their families
