Job description

About Us

Discovering Strength is more than a therapy clinic - it's a place of purpose, passion, and potential. Based in Melbourne, we are a team of dedicated Psychologists, Occupational therapists and Support Workers with a strong emphasis on developmental and learning difficulties.

Our approach is client-centred, evidence-based, and values-driven. We don't just support children and families - we support each other, cultivating a workplace where people are encouraged to thrive personally and professionally.

We understand that the strength of our outcomes relies on the strength of our team. That's why we've built an environment where clinicians are supported, schedules are flexible, workloads are manageable, and personal growth is championed. We are looking for an experienced speech pathologist who is seeking a meaningful, balanced role and has the potential to lead a team of Speech Pathologists as we grow. Discovering Strength offers an opportunity to truly make a difference.

Why Join Us?

We have a supportive values-driven team culture with a team of Psychologists, Occupational Therapist, Support Workers and admin support. Work alongside a warm, collaborative, and multidisciplinary team that values continuous learning and psychological safety. We believe in equal opportunities for all and encourage people with additional needs to apply.

We offer a unique opportunity perfect for those with children (or anyone who simply wants a lot of time off) where there is the option of only working during school terms.

  • 10 weeks off per year - enjoy balance and time to recharge.
  • Flexibility - we'll build a schedule that works for you.
  • Professional Development - access to funded courses and tailored mentorship programs.
  • Clinical Supervision - Willingness to pay for regular discipline-specific mentoring. Case management support provided.
  • Manageable Caseloads - We prioritise quality over quantity to maintain clinical excellence and reduce burnout.
  • Work Variety - Clinic-based sessions, school visits, home visits, and community integration.

Bonus System for over achievement.

About the Role

We are expanding our services and are seeking a Speech Pathologist to complement our existing team.

You'll work with a paediatric caseload (toddlers through to teens, with occasional adult clients) and provide therapy across clinic, school, and community settings. Our clients have a variety of needs (developmental, sensory, behavioural, speech, language and pragmatic delays).

Key responsibilities include:
  • Designing and delivering evidence-based therapy plans and group therapy programs
  • Running individual and group sessions that complement our existing programs and that offer something different
  • Build strong relationships with families, educators, allied health professionals, and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive client care.
About You

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • A passion for working with developmental and learning difficulties
  • A commitment to evidence-based practice and lifelong learning
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
