Speech Pathologist | Part-Time or Full-Time
About Interact Speech Pathology

"Connection comes first. Always"

At Interact Speech Pathology, we believe that meaningful communication support begins with meaningful relationships. Before we build skills, we build trust. Before we set goals, we take the time to understand a child’s world, what matters to them and where they want to go.

We are a well-established private practice based in the Geelong region, providing speech pathology services to children and young people across the educational lifespan, from early childhood through to the end of Year 12.

We are looking for a vibrant, motivated and neuroaffirming Speech Pathologist to join our team in either a part-time or full-time capacity.

We want someone who is passionate about communication, genuinely enjoys connecting with children and young people, and understands that successful therapy is about more than delivering a program or achieving a clinical outcome. It is about building relationships, understanding different perspectives and working alongside families to make a meaningful difference in everyday life.

At Interact, we recognise that every child brings their own strengths, interests, experiences and ways of communicating. We want our Speech Pathologists to build on those strengths, respect each child's autonomy and support them to develop the communication skills that matter to them.

If this sounds like the kind of practice you would love to be part of, we would love to hear from you.

What we offer

You will join a supportive and experienced team comprising two Senior Speech Pathologists, three experienced Speech Pathologists and one new graduate Speech Pathologist.

We value the different strengths and interests each clinician brings. We are committed to creating an environment where clinicians can ask questions, share ideas, learn from one another and develop their own areas of expertise.

Our team culture includes:
  • Regular team meetings that encourage collaboration, shared thinking and clinical discussion.
  • Regular clinical supervision with a Senior Speech Pathologist.
  • Cross-observation opportunities to learn from colleagues and explore different approaches.
  • Support to pursue your professional interests and develop your clinical expertise.
  • Opportunities to reflect on practice, build confidence and continue learning throughout your career.
  • A team environment where warmth, communication and genuine relationships matter.

We also recognise that good clinical care needs good systems around it. Our dedicated administration team supports bookings, payments and client communication, allowing clinicians to focus on children, young people and families.

Additional benefits include:
  • Above-award salaries, negotiated according to experience.
  • Workplace health and safety and human resources support through Peninsula.
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program to support staff wellbeing.
  • A well-resourced clinic with a broad range of assessment tools and therapy materials.
  • A collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

We want our clinicians to feel supported to do their best work, develop their professional interests and maintain a sustainable approach to their careers.

About our clinic and clinical work

Interact Speech Pathology is based in the Geelong region and co-located with Think Psychology. This creates opportunities for collaboration with psychologists, occupational therapists social workers and behaviour support professionals, helping us connect families with appropriate supports when needed.

Our clinic is bright, welcoming and well resourced, with engaging therapy spaces designed to support children, young people and clinicians.

Our caseload is varied, working with children and young people aged approximately 1–17 years across a range of communication needs. Services are primarily clinic-based, with some sessions conducted in homes, schools, childcare and kindergarten settings, as well as via Telehealth.

Our clinicians have training in a range of evidence-based programs and approaches, including:
  • Social Thinking.
  • Lidcombe Stuttering Program.

We actively support clinicians to develop their professional interests and build depth in areas they are passionate about. We recognise that a team with diverse expertise allows us to provide a better match between children and therapists.

Our practice focuses on communication. We work collaboratively with other professionals when a child or young person needs support beyond our scope, and we value knowing when to seek additional expertise.

Interact Speech Pathology is also working towards full NDIS registration, with registration anticipated in early 2027.

Key responsibilities

As a Speech Pathologist at Interact, you will:

  • Provide evidence-based, neuroaffirming speech pathology assessment and intervention for children and young people.
  • Build strong therapeutic relationships that help children feel heard, understood and safe.

  • Use a strengths-based, child-led approach that respects each person's communication style, preferences and autonomy.
  • Work alongside families to develop practical strategies that can be used in everyday life.
  • Collaborate with educators, schools, kindergartens and multidisciplinary professionals to support communication across environments.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation, assessments and reports.
  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, cross-observation and professional development.
  • Recognise the limits of your own expertise and seek supervision, collaboration or reference when appropriate.
  • Contribute to a positive, respectful and collaborative team culture.

We are looking for someone who brings warmth, curiosity and a genuine commitment to children and young people.

You will have:
  • A recognised tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology at graduate or postgraduate level.
  • Current membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
  • A current Working With Children Check.
  • A current Australian driver's licence.

  • An interest in neuroaffirming, strengths-based and child-led practice.
  • The ability to build genuine relationships with children, young people, families and colleagues.
  • Show a commitment to lifelong learning

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who understands that connection comes before correction, that families are partners in the process, and that meaningful outcomes are built through trust, collaboration and respect.

We welcome clinicians at different stages of their careers, including new graduates who are keen to learn and grow within a supportive team.
