Job summary

Mayday Recruitment is seeking an experienced Practice Nurse for a well-established specialist surgical practice in Camperdown, NSW, to support patients undergoing complex breast reconstruction following cancer.

You will provide high‑quality, patient‑centred care, manage complex wounds, deliver post‑operative wound care and education, and collaborate closely with the surgeon and broader healthcare team to support patients through their reconstruction and recovery journey.

Qualifications

• Experience in reconstructive plastics, breast surgery or a similar surgical environment highly desirable.
• Excellent clinical assessment and wound management skills.
• Genuine patient-focused approach.
• Confidence working autonomously within a specialist practice.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Interest in supporting a growing practice across multiple medical providers and mentoring less‑experienced nurses.
• Comfortable creating patient education content including social media videos, recovery tips and written resources.

Responsibilities

• Managing complex wounds following breast reconstruction and surgery.
• Providing post-operative wound care, dressings and ongoing clinical assessment.
• Supporting patients throughout their surgical and recovery journey.
• Educating patients on wound care and recovery.
• Liaising closely with the surgeon and broader healthcare team.
• Providing reassurance, continuity and a high level of patient support.
