Melbourne Health is seeking Specialist Ophthalmologists for two fractional/Fixed Term roles to cover parental leave. The Royal Melbourne site provides comprehensive ophthalmology services as part of a major hospital network within Victoria's Biomedical Precinct.

You will deliver ambulatory, emergent, procedural and possibly surgical care for subspecialty and general ophthalmic conditions, participate in after-hours on-call rosters, and contribute to education for registrars and medical students

Formación

• MBBS or equivalent tertiary qualifications.
• Full registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Minimum of one-year Fellowship training.
• Fellowship training in Cornea or Medical Retina or Oculoplastic preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide ambulatory, emergent, procedural and possibly surgical care for ophthalmic conditions.
• Contribute to emergency ophthalmic care via after-hours on-call roster.
• Provide clinical and didactic education to ophthalmic registrars, medical students, and students from other disciplines.
• Attend regular clinical meetings, audit meetings and journal club meetings.
• Comply with Quality Management policies and procedures, and participate in Quality Management activities for ophthalmology.
• Support and participate in OH&S procedures and implement them at unit level.
• Assist in maintaining a safe work environment by reporting incidents of unsafe practices, sites or equipment.
• Observe EEO principles and Melbourne Health values in the workplace.

Educación

• RMH is one of the largest health providers in Australia, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical and mental health services and is part of a large trauma & referral centre
• Includes complicated internal and external referrals.
• Ophthalmology department consists of consultants, junior medical staff and orthoptists

About the role:

• Provide ambulatory, emergent, procedural and possibly surgical care for patients with subspecialty ophthalmic conditions and ambulatory, emergent, procedural and surgical care for patients with general ophthalmic conditions
• Contribute to emergency ophthalmic care at the RMH by taking part in the after-hours on-call roster
• Provide clinical and didactic education to ophthalmic registrars, medical students, and students from other disciplines working with the unit
• Attend regular clinical meetings, audit meetings and journal club meetings
• Comply with Quality Management policies and procedures, and participate in Quality Management activities for ophthalmology
• Support and participate in the Health Service OH&S Procedures and implement (where appropriate) at unit/service area level.
• Assist in maintaining a safe work environment by reporting any incidents of unsafe work practices, sites/areas or equipment.
