Job summary

OneSchool Global Illawarra is seeking a Specialist Learning Support Teacher to commence in Term 4, 2026 on a full-time, permanent basis. You’ll support students across Years 3–12 at our Illawarra Campus in Darkes Forest, NSW, delivering differentiated instruction and life skills programs.

Applicants must be NSW-registered teachers with a solid understanding of the Australian Curriculum and demonstrated ASD experience.

Qualifications

• Excellent understanding of the Australian Curriculum and NSW teaching standards.
• Registered NSW teacher with relevant tertiary qualifications.
• Experience identifying student needs, differentiating instruction, and data-informed planning.
• Experience with ASD and engaging teenage boys is highly regarded.
• Experience delivering Life Skills programs and ASD Level 3 is desirable.

Job description

We are seeking aSpecialist Learning Support Teacher for our Illawarra Campus to commence in Term 4, 2026 on a full time, permanent basis. You’ll be working with students across both Primary and Secondary levels, from Years 3 to 12.

The OneSchool Global Illawarra Campus is in Darkes Forest, nestled amongst dense bushland and surrounded by rural properties. The campus boasts wide open spaces and state of the art facilities. About You

All applicants will need an excellent understanding of the Australian Curriculum and Syllabus, be an NSW-registered teacher, and have relevant teaching and tertiary qualifications.

As a Learning Support Teacher, you will be skilled in identifying and evaluating student needs, differentiating instruction across all parts of the learning spectrum, collecting and analysing data, creating and implementing individualised education plans (IEPs), and providing professional guidance to staff. Experience working with students with ASD is essential, and the ability to effectively engage and support teenage boys is highly regarded.

Experience working with students who have identified and diagnosed high-need autism, including students up to Level 3 ASD, and/or experience developing and delivering Life Skills programs (including programming life skills as part of the role) will be highly desirable.

You will respond to data through intervention programs and differentiation of content in consultation with the Campus Student Support Lead and subject teachers. You will also provide training and support to Teaching and Support staff in areas that enhance quality differentiated teaching and supplementary support. The role involves providing targeted support to students during lessons and study time—both in general and specialist learning environments, including online (Zoom).
