Job summary

Medrecruit seeks a Specialist Consultant in Medicine with a focus on Interventional Cardiology to establish and grow a regional interventional cardiology service in Rockhampton, QLD. You will deliver care across CCU, wards, outpatient clinics and the cath lab, while leading service development and teaching.

Role supports ongoing teaching, research, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in a major regional referral centre in Australia.

Qualifications

• Specialist registration, or eligibility for registration, as a Cardiologist in Australia.
• Contemporary Interventional Cardiology experience, including PCI practice.
• Strong General Cardiology skills.
• Experience in clinical leadership, governance, and service development.
• Commitment to teaching and multidisciplinary teamwork.
• International candidates can be considered, subject to registration and eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

About the Role

A rare opportunity for an Interventional Cardiologist to help establish and grow a new Interventional Cardiology service within a major regional referral centre. You will provide General and Interventional Cardiology services across the Coronary Care Unit, Cardiology Ward, outpatient clinics, and a newly completed Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory. The role also involves clinical leadership, service development, teaching, and quality improvement.
