Job summary

Yass High School is seeking a Teacher Special Education to join a growing, inclusive school near Canberra. The role focuses on delivering personalised learning pathways and coordinating support across a broad curriculum, including agriculture and vocational offerings.

The successful candidate will have full NSW teaching approval to teach special education and will contribute to a culture of high expectations, wellbeing and collaboration among staff and families in a rural setting near Yass, NSW.

Qualifications

• Approval to teach special education or experience teaching students with Mild/Moderate Intellectual Disability, Autism or Behaviour Difficulties.
• Demonstrated ability to create a positive learning environment through effective classroom management and wellbeing initiatives.
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with colleagues, parents and the wider community.
• Ability to design and teach differentiated programs and develop Personalised Learning Support Plans and Behaviour Management Plans.

Responsibilities

• Design and teach quality, differentiated educational programs and develop Personalised Learning Support Plans and Behaviour Management Plans for a wide range of learning needs.
• Support students' transition to the workforce through pathways programs and coordinated learning supports.
