Job summary

Tecside is seeking experienced Special Class Welders for a major construction project in Karratha, WA. You will bring proven coded welding experience across LNG, Oil & Gas, resources and heavy industrial construction, and the ability to work to WPS and QA/QC requirements.

Applicants must have current Australian work rights, relevant site tickets, and be able to mobilise FIFO from Perth, residing in Western Australia.

Qualifications

• Strong coded welding experience.
• Demonstrated FCAW, SMAW and GTAW/TIG capability.
• Significant pressure and/or pipe welding experience.
• Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel and/or alloys.
• Previous experience on LNG, Oil & Gas, resources or heavy industrial construction projects.
• Ability to work to approved WPS, project QA/QC and welding specifications.
• Current Australian work rights; current relevant site tickets and licences.
• Ability to mobilise FIFO from Perth; currently residing in Western Australia.
• AS1796 / WTIA qualifications; 6G pressure-pipe experience and RT/NDT history will be highly regarded.

Job description

Special Class Welders

Tecside is currently recruiting experienced Special Class Welders to support our clienta major construction project in Karratha, Western Australia. We are looking for proven coded welders with strong backgrounds across LNG, Oil & Gas, resources, process plant, power generation, or comparable heavy industrial construction projects.

This is not an entry-level welding opportunity. Candidates need to demonstrate genuine high-integrity pressure and pipe welding experience on major projects.

To be considered, you must have:

• Strong coded welding experience
• Demonstrated FCAW, SMAW and GTAW/TIG capability
• Significant pressure and/or pipe welding experience
• Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel and/or alloys
• Previous experience on major LNG, Oil & Gas, resources or heavy industrial construction projects
• Ability to work to approved WPS, project QA/QC and welding specifications
• Current Australian work rights
• Current relevant site tickets and licences
• Ability to mobilise FIFO from PerthCurrently residing in Western Australia

Candidates with current AS1796 / WTIA qualifications, 6G pressure-pipe experience and strong RT/NDT welding history will be highly regarded.

Weld Test

A weld test in Perth is mandatory prior to mobilisation. Applicants must be available to attend testing in Perth and successfully complete the required project weld test before mobilisation can proceed.

Employment Conditions

• All-purpose rate: $58.45/hr
• Site allowance: $5.40/hr for site hours worked
• Overtime paid in accordance with project conditions
• Full-time fixed-term employment through Tecside
• Potential long-term project duration, subject to project requirements
• FIFO from Perth
• Current project roster being recruited against: 20 days on / 8 days off
• Current standard shifts are generally 10 hours per day

The project is expected to transition to a 2:1 roster with 11-hour days, however this has not yet been formally confirmed. Candidates will be kept updated as project conditions are finalised.
