Job summary

Fitzroy High School in Melbourne's inner city seeks a dedicated classroom teacher to deliver the Years 7–12 program in a vibrant government secondary setting. The school supports shared senior study with Collingwood College on the Wurun Senior Campus for Years 11 and 12.

You will plan and deliver high-quality teaching, assess student progress, use data to inform practice, and collaborate with colleagues, families and the local community to support diverse learners and active citizenship.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy
• Ability to plan and deliver high-impact teaching strategies
• Ability to monitor and assess student learning using data
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents and colleagues
• Commitment to reflective practice and ongoing professional learning

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of classes across Year 7–12; deliver programs to achieve specified student outcomes
• Contribute to school policies and priorities; engage in professional learning
• Model exemplary classroom practice and mentor other teachers
• Supervise student teachers and support staff as required
• Use data to inform teaching approaches and provide feedback to students and parents
