Job summary

Minor Hotels' Oaks Sunshine Coast Oasis Resort is seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.

You will support the Head Chef, supervise and mentor the kitchen staff, and ensure consistently high-quality dishes and dining experiences for guests.

This role requires leadership, menu input, cost control, and the ability to work across shifts in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• Minimum two years’ experience as a Sous Chef.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Direct and support kitchen team to ensure excellence in dishes.
• Oversee kitchen staff quality and consistency.
• Assist in menu creation and cost analysis to maintain profitability.
• Manage inventory and back-of-house food and labour costs.
• Implement procedures for high standards of presentation, sanitation, service, and product quality.
• Ensure health and safety regulations and food standards compliance.
• Recruit, induct, train, and roster kitchen team members.
• Curate and refine recipes to meet dietary needs and allergies.
