Task & Responsibilities

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating
  • Assume leadership in the absence of the Head Chef.
  • Creating and planning the cafe menu, considering customer preferences, seasonal availability of ingredients, and cost-effectiveness
  • Overseeing the preparation of all dishes on the menu to ensure quality, consistency, and presentation standards.
  • Perform regular taste tests and quality checks.
  • Ensure that the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently, meeting all deadlines and service requirements.
  • Manage the kitchen team, including scheduling shifts, delegating tasks, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Assist Head Chef in the training of all staff in compliance of company procedures
  • Assist in controlling food costs by managing portion sizes, reducing waste, and optimizing inventory levels.
  • Monitor and maintain food cost budgets.
  • Ensure that all kitchen operations comply with food safety regulations, health standards, and hygiene requirements.
Qualification & Experience

This position requires:

  • Relevant hospitality qualification ( Diploma or higher)
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a high-volume kitchen as a Sous Chef or similar role
  • Excellent cooking skills, including experience with a variety of cuisines and cooking techniques.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Availability to work weekend
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment, food safety regulations, and best practices.
  • Attention to detail and creativity in food preparation and presentation.
